VPN Settings in Android

To setup VPN on Android:

Press the Home icon, press Menu, and tap Settings
Tap Wireless & networks

Tap VPN settings
Tap Add VPN

Select the type of VPN to add (PPTP or L2TP/IPSec PSK VPN)

Fill in VPN details such as your VPN account name, and our VPN server address (check it by logging in our app and see “User Manuals”). For example, L2TP VPN setup details:
VPN Type: L2TP/IPSec PSK
Server address: vpn.vpnvip.com (or vpn.smartvpn.info if you are in China)
L2TP secret: (not used)
IPSec identifier: (not used)
IPSec pre-shared key: VPNVIP (all in capital letters)

It’s done!

To connect to our VPN:

Press the Home icon, press Menu, and tap Settings
Tap Wireless & networks
Tap VPN settings
The VPN connection you have added are now listed
Tap the VPN, dialog box will open asking for your credentials, enter them and touch connect

Notes:

You can try both “PPTP VPN” and “L2TP/IPSec PSK VPN” on your Android devices.
The shared secret (PSK) for L2TP is VPNVIP (all in capital letters)
Please try PPTP VPN first because it’s usually faster than L2TP
If you have hacked (root) your device and have problems using VPN, probably you need to run this command from shell:
chmod 777 /etc/ppp/ip-up-vpn

VPN Settings in iPhone / iTouch / iPad

1. In Settings > General > Network > VPN, choose:

1) Connection type: “L2TP” or “PPTP”

Please try both connection types if your network has any problem connecting to our server.

2) Server: please login in our app “VPN Express” then see the VPN server address in “User Manual”

3) Account: your username (registered email)

4) RSA SecurID: OFF

5) Password: your password

6.1) (L2TP) Secret: “VPNVIP” (Notes: All captalized!)

6.2) (PPTP) Encryption Level: Auto

7) Send All Traffic: ON

3. Save, then select the new VPN profile from list:

Setup L2TP VPN in Mac OS X (10.5+)

Open the Network Control Panel

First, open the System Preferences by going to the Apple menu and choosing “System Preferences”. Or choose “System Preferences” from the Dock.

Next, click on the ‘Network’ system preference.

Make a new connection

In the ‘Network’ system preference there is a list of network connections on the left side. Click the ‘+’ icon (hilighted in red) to make a new connection for the VPN.

Set the Interface to ‘VPN’ and set the Connection Type and Name

When you click the ‘+’ icon, a new service sheet appears. Click on the ‘Interface’ popup menu to see the list of choices.

In the list, select ‘VPN’.

The ‘VPN Type’ should automatically be set to ‘L2TP over IPSec’, as seen in the picture below.

Next, set the Service Name to “VPNVIP” and click “Create”:

User Name, Password & Other Configurations

Now that you have a VPN connection, you’ll need to configure for it:
In “Server Address”, enter our server host name: vpn.vpnvip.com or us.vpnvip.com or cn.vpnvip.com or uk.vpnvip.com;
In “Account Name”, enter your vpn account name (your registered email);

Then, click on the ‘Authentication Settings…’ button. A new sheet drops down.

Enter your VPNVIP password in “Password” field;

Enter our secret “VPNVIP” (all capitalized!) in “Shared Secret” filed;

Advanced VPN settings

Next, we’ll need to adjust some of the advanced VPN settings. To do that, first click the ‘Advanced…” button.
For the VPN to work effectively, the “Send all traffic over VPN connection” checkbox should be checked.

Then click “OK” to finish advanced settings.

Apply the settings

To actually save the configuration, click the ‘Apply’ button in the bottom right of the window.

Connect to VPN

It’s done! Now you can use “connect” button in “VPNVIP” configuration window to enjoy your secure web access!

Setup PPTP VPN in Mac OS X (10.5+)

Open the Network Control Panel

Setup L2TP VPN in Windows 7

These instructions work under all the client side variations of Windows 7, namely Home Basic, Home Premium, Business, and Ultimate.

Before setting up your VPN connection, make sure your version of Windows 7 is up to date by running Windows Update.

Open the Start Menu

First, click on the Start Menu and type “VPN” into the search box.

Click on the “Set up a virtual private network (VPN) connection.”

Enter the server information

Now, enter the server information as below.

In the text box labelled “Internet address” type VPN server host name: vpn.vpnvip.com or us.vpnvip.com or cn.vpnvip.com or uk.vpnvip.com

In the text box labelled “Destination name” type “My VPN” or whatever you want. This is the name of the connection, and will show up in the “Connect to a network” screen when we’re done.

Lastly, make sure that the checkbox labelled “Don’t connect now; just set it up so I can connect later” is checked.

Then click the “Next” button.

Enter your VPNVIP username and password

In this screen, enter your VPN username and password.

In the text box labelled “User name:”, enter username.

In the text box labelled “Password:”, enter your password.

Optionally, check the “Remember this password” checkbox and you won’t have to enter your password when you connect to VPNVIP.

Then, click the “Create” button.

Go to the connection

Click on the Start Menu, type the word “Network” into the search box, and click on “Network and Sharing Center”.

When the Network and Sharing Center opens, click on “Connect to a network”.

When you click on “Connect to a network”, a list of VPNs pops up. Right click on the “My VPN” connection (the VPN connection just created) and choose “Properties”.

Edit the VPN type to L2TP

In the “Properties” of new VPN connection, click on the “Type of VPN” pop up menu and select “L2TP/IPsec”.

Next, click on the “Advanced Settings” button.

Set the Preshared Key

In the “IPsec Settings” dialog, click the radio button labelled “Use preshared key for authentication”. Then type “VPNVIP” into the textbox labelled “Key”. Then click the “OK” button.

Neworking settings

This screen shows you the network settings. You may have different items in your list. In the list of items that you see, make sure that only the “Internet Protocol Version 4(TCP/IPv4)” and “Client for Microsoft Networks” items are checked. If oher protcols are checked, uncheck them by clicking on the checkbox.

VPNVIP currently does not route anything except TCP/IP version 4.

Done!

You’re now done with your setup! You’ve set up your VPNVIP connection to use L2TP. Click “OK” to finish now, then connect to our VPN server by this connection.

Setup PPTP VPN in Windows 7

Edit the VPN type to PPTP

When the property window opens, click on the “Security” tab. Click on “Automatic”, and change it to “Point to Point Tunneling Protocol (PPTP).

Neworking settings

VPNVIP currently does not route anything except TCP/IP version 4.

Done!

You’re now done with your setup! You’ve set up your VPNVIP connection to use PPTP. Click “OK” to finish now, then connect to our VPN server by this connection.

Setup L2TP VPN in Windows XP

The first thing you must do is right click the My Network Places icon and select Properties.

This will bring you to the Network Connections window which displays a list of your current network connections. Double click the New Connection Wizard icon.

You are faced with three options – choose the second one, “Connect to the network at my workplace” and click Next.

Now choose the second option, “Virtual Private Network connection” and click Next.

This will bring you to the window in which you should enter the name of the company or server you will be connecting to. After you have typed the name in, press Next.

This will bring you to the following window in which you must enter the host name of the VPN server: vpn.vpnvip.com or us.vpnvip.com or cn.vpnvip.com or uk.vpnvip.com

And finally, the “Connection Availability” window will allow you to select who is authorized to use the VPN connection. “Anyone’s use” will permit anyone who logs onto the system to use the connection, whereas “My use only” will limit it’s use to you only.

Once you click Next and Finish, your new connection will be visible in the Network Connections window (as seen below).

Right click the new connection and select properties to open the properties window. Here, you can configure, amongst others, the network settings and general options.

Select the Networking tab and in the “Type of VPN” drop down list, choose L2TP VPN.

Click the Security tab, then click the “IPsec Settings…” button:

In the next window, click the checkbox and type “VPNVIP” as the key and click OK.

Press OK to close the window and return to the network connections window.

If you double click your VPN connection the logon window will appear.

Enter your username and password and click Connect.

After the authentication process is complete, you will be logged on to the VPN Server and two computers will appear at the bottom right hand corner of your screen (default).

Congratulations! You have now successfully been connected to the VPN server.
